AmeriCorps Members focus on the AmeriCorps priority area of education by providing experiential learning opportunities for youth. Community needs are addressed with service that strengthens the capacity of individuals, increasing educational attainment and fostering positive development.

Coconino County

UACE Coconino

School Garden & Nutrition ​Program Coordinator

Availability: 450 Hour Slots for ​Fall 2024

As a UACE Coconino School Garden & Nutrition ​Program Coordinator, you will work with local youth ​to help them learn essential skills in gardening and ​nutrition. By engaging in various tasks related to ​program planning, coordination, and maintenance of ​the school garden, you will improve the lives of ​countless students and their families by teaching ​them lessons in gardening, health, and nutrition that ​they can draw on for years to come. This program is in ​partnership with Lake View Primary School in Page, ​Arizona.

Graham County

FCHS Instructional Aid ​(Family, Consumer and ​Health Sciences)

Availability: 900, 675 & 450 Hour

The AmeriCorps Instructional Aid will be ​involved in community outreach, ​children/youth, education, and health. This ​position is very diverse, allowing the ​AmeriCorps member to work in a variety of ​different programs with audiences of all ages ​across our community.


UACE Graham County ​Watershed Program ​Assistant

Availability: 900 & 450 Hour

Slots for Fall 2024

This role will involve serving at the Eastern ​Arizona College’s Discovery Park campus. You ​will help educate the local community on ​water conservation, assist with greenhouse ​production, help improve the overall ​condition of the watershed, and be a part of ​river restoration.


UACE & Graham County ​Health Dept Instructional ​Aid

Availability: 900 Hour

Slots for Fall 2024

This position will be involved in community ​outreach, education, and health, and is a ​partnership with the Graham County ​Cooperative Extension (GCCE) and Graham ​County Health Department (GCHD). You will ​primarily support GCHD programs in public ​mental/behavioral health programs and ​environmental health. During your service ​term, you will work with diverse audiences ​from youth to seniors in the community, so ​communication skills are a must!

UACE & Graham County ​Library Instructional Aid

Availability: 900 & 450 Hour

Slots for Fall 2024

This position will be involved in community ​outreach and education. You will primarily ​support library programs and services, such as ​assisting in the preparation and presentation ​of programs ranging from preschool to adult ​audiences. This diverse role is a great ​opportunity to learn new skills and gain ​valuable experience communicating with ​different members of your community.


Greenlee County

UACE Greenlee County ​Program Assistant

Availability: 900 & 450 Hour

Slots for Fall 2024

In this position, you will assist with the ​development and delivery of youth and adult ​gardening programs in Greenlee County while ​also serving alongside horticulture and ​nutrition staff. Examples of programs you will ​be working with include school gardens at ​Duncan Head Start, Elementary and High ​School; seed libraries at Clifton and Duncan; ​and monthly gardening workshops.

La Paz County

UACE La Paz County ​Community Garden

Availability: 900 Hour

Slots for Fall 2024

The goal of this position is to help with ​maintaining current gardens and providing ​instruction at those gardens to share knowledge ​with La Paz County residents and students. In ​this role, you will be working with diverse ​audiences including youth and seniors, and ​both tribal and non-tribal members of our ​community. If you have a love for learning and ​actively participating in community events, we ​would love to hear from you!

UACE La Paz County and ​CRIT FRTEP

Availability: 900 Hour

Slots for Fall 2024

The candidate will work with the school garden ​project of the Federally Recognized Tribal ​Extension Program (FRTEP). This project ​teaches participating students the basic ​scientific knowledge of growing vegetables ​and fruits, as well as the health benefits of the ​nutrition they provide, and the physical ​activity associated with gardening. This ​position will provide support in overseeing the ​students in the various indoor and outdoor ​classroom activities at the school gardens, as ​well as the maintenance of the school garden ​itself.

Maricopa County

UACE Maricopa County 4-H ​Youth Development

Availability: 450 Hour

Slots for Fall 2024

The AmeriCorps Program Assistants will assist ​with the expansion, development, and ​implementation of 4-H Youth Development ​programs in Maricopa County. This position ​will primarily work to develop and promote ​new delivery modes for schools, military ​bases, and other community-centered ​institutions. The position will also assist in ​traditional 4-H club activities, including ​County Fair and summer camp. Minimum ​Qualifications: One year of experience in ​working with youth programs; OR one year of ​experience working with the public; OR any ​equivalent combination of experience, ​training, and/or education.

Pima County

Tucson Village Farm UACE ​Educator

Availability: 900 Hour Slots for ​Fall 2024

Working at Tucson Village Farm and the 4-H Healthy Living Center, an AmeriCorps member has the opportunity to engage in a variety of tasks like teaching cooking classes, running team building programs, and growing fresh produce. A member working here needs to be a flexible team player who enjoys interacting with youth. Members will receive training in arid land food production, youth development, leadership development and program design and implementation, and more!

UACE Manzo Elementary ​Ecology & Food Literacy ​Support

Availability: 900 Hour Slots for ​Fall 2024

In this exciting role, you will partner with the Manzo ​Ecology Program Coordinator and Food Literacy ​Program Manager to teach TUSD students about ​ecology, gardening, and food literacy. Our primary ​goals include encouraging STEAM learning, inspiring ​curiosity in students, increasing students’ nutritional ​knowledge so they can make healthier food choices, ​and giving students hands-on experience in the ​school gardens.

Tucson Festival of Books

Availability: 450 & 300 Hour Slots ​for Fall 2024

The primary purpose of this AmeriCorps position is to ​support both the mission and vision of the Tucson ​Festival of Books. In this role, you will help increase ​literacy throughout Pima County and all of southern ​Arizona through program development (organization, ​implementation, and evaluation). To apply, you must ​be at least 18 years old and have your high school ​degree. If you have a willingness to learn, possess ​strong communication and organization skills, and are ​passionate about helping your local community, we ​want to hear from you!

UACE Water Resources ​Research Center

Availability: 450 Hour Slots for ​Fall 2024

The UArizona Water Resources Research Center ​(WRRC) is seeking AmeriCorps service members with ​interest and experience in writing about water and/or ​environmental topics to assist with outreach ​communication. WRRC tackles key water policy and ​management issues, empower informed decision-​making, and enrich understanding through ​engagement, education, and applied research. We are ​seeking motivated service members who wish to ​share information about water management, policy, ​use, and research with a wide range of audiences. ​Outreach strategies include a weekly newsletter, ​webinars, special events, an annual conference, and ​invited presentations.

UACE Pima County Family ​Engagement Program

Availability: 300 Hour Slots for ​Fall 2024

The Family Engagement Program at UA Cooperative ​Extension helps families with children aged 0-18 to ​create a rich learning environment for their children. ​We have a number of unique classes focusing on brain ​development and child behavior management. In this ​role, you will gain key program-building experience by ​assisting with logistics, communication, and other ​programming needs. If you have related prior ​experience, excellent communication skills, ​knowledge of community health and social agencies, ​and the desire to help families in your local ​community, apply today!

Pinal County

UACE Pinal County 4-H ​Youth Development

Availability: 675 & 450 Hour Slots ​for Fall 2024

In this role, you will develop, strengthen, and deliver ​4-H educational activities, projects, and programs in ​Pinal County. Special emphasis will be on developing ​4-H STEM clubs focused on hands-on education, club ​programming, and agriculture clinics and workshops. ​You will engage diverse audiences, network with other ​community agencies, contribute to 4-H social ​networking sites, plan and prepare for group lessons ​and activities, employ various teaching methods to ​promote learning and implement activities, and ​develop promotional materials.

Yavapai County

UACE Yavapai County ​Program Assistant 4-H

Availability: 300 Hour Slots for ​Fall 2024

In this diverse role, you will develop, strengthen, and ​deliver 4-H educational activities, projects, and ​programs in Yavapai County. There will be special ​emphasis on developing 4-H Special Interest (SPIN) ​clubs focused on STEM hands-on education. This ​position is an excellent opportunity to expand and ​strengthen your skillset in communication, networking, ​social media, education, and community ​outreach/promotion. Yuma County

UACE Yuma County ​Marketing Leader

Availability: 675 Hour Slots for ​Fall 2024

As a key part of our community outreach, you will highlight ​the programs and services that are administered through the ​Yuma County Cooperative Extension. You will organize and ​conduct outreach and promotional activities such as taking ​pictures, conducting interviews, and posting on social media ​sites to give the public an understanding of Cooperative ​Extension programs, in addition to participating in and ​supporting community events and educational trainings.
